Our work in the community and world wide.

Ayrshire (East) Foodbank was established in Darvel Parish Church, in association with the Trussell Trust, in 2012. It soon became evident that extra space was required and a move was made to premises adjacent to the church in Hastings Square.

The Foodbank, currently managed by the C.V.O. (Council of Voluntary Organisations), expanded rapidly and now supplies nine distribution centres with food for people in need throughout East Ayrshire.

At Darvel,  family emergency food boxes are made up with appropriate food for the number of persons on each voucher requested. These are then sent to the distribution centres at St Matthew's R.C. Church, St. John's Church, Onthank, The C.V.O. at Belford Mills, St. John's R.C. Church, Cumnock, The Zone Dalmellington, St Columba's Church, Stewarton,  Rankinston.

The Ayrshire (East) Foodbank is a truly ecumenical voluntary organisation which depends entirely on the generous donations of food or cash from members of the public, churches, schools, and many other organisations as  well as by supermarket collections staffed by foodbank volunteers

Hours of opening - Darvel - 10am to 12 noon - Monday, Wednesday, Friday

Opening hours of distribution centres varies but overall one or more are open each day.
